What is KFE ?

“The Karmapa Foundation Europe” (or KFE) is an international private foundation whose headquarters are in Brussels. It was established in 2010 by Venerable Ringu Tulku Rinpoche, Official Representative for Europe of His Holiness the 17th Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje, the Supreme Authority of the Karma Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism.

The aim of the Foundation is to provide – on a European level and in a European perspective – support to His Holiness the 17th  Karmapa and his action. The activities of the Karmapa Foundation Europe will vary from supporting His Holiness’ visits to Europe, allowing his spiritual teachings to be better known in Europe and sponsoring projects of various nature.

The Foundation is currently administered by a Board consisting of eight members, appointed by His Holiness (Go to the Board).

The functioning of the Foundation is exclusively based on the work of volunteers.

The General Secretary of KFE particularly wishes to thank Ringu Tulku Rinpoche, founder of KFE, for his generosity in sharing the vast treasury of his knowledge and in consulting on numerous issues with regard to His Holiness the Karmapa. Furthermore, KFE would like to thank all those who contributed to the coordination, setup and development of the current website, the Members of the KFE board, as well as the people of the Brussels Office of KFE.

A special thought of gratitude goes to Daniele Salemi and Johannes Billing, the KFE web developers and Paul O’Connor for his excellent graphic work, the re-creation of the website and for being its main administrator.
